About Hazel
Hazel is an accomplished Specialist Family Law Solicitor and Children’s Representative with 25 years of post-qualification experience. Joining McAlister Family Law as a Partner, Hazel brings an exceptional track record in both public and private law proceedings, having spent over two decades as a dedicated member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.
Throughout a distinguished career spent predominantly in Merseyside, Hazel has developed a formidable reputation for representing children of all ages. Known for handling highly complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation, Hazel notably represented the lead children in the landmark case AA & 25 Ors (Children) EWFC 64, which involved 15 families across four Local Authorities. More recently, Hazel successfully protected a child’s interests in the Court of Appeal case Re T (Interim Care Order: Arrangements for Contact) EWCA Civ 469.
Hazel is deeply passionate about ensuring young people have a voice in the legal system, frequently receiving instructions from teenagers navigating difficult family transitions. Prior to joining the firm, Hazel spent a decade as a Director of a boutique family practice on Merseyside, following a successful ten-year tenure as Partner and Head of a Family Department spanning four offices.
